These are the key findings and recommendations of this Response plan for zebra mussels at Lake Pueblo, also known as Pueblo Reservoir. Zebra mussel larvae were found in a sample collected at Lake Pueblo in November, 2007. The lake appears to be susceptible to rapid growth of zebra mussels based on chemical and temperature parameters, but it was, at the time of discovery, the highest known elevation of zebra mussel infestation. Zebra and quagga mussels, species in the genus Dreissena, can cause exorbitant economic impacts -- on the order of millions to billions of dollars. Eradication is highly unlikely once mussels are established in large bodies of water. Evidence from other states shows that this species can spread between water bodies via recreational boating., "Last edited August 14, 2008.", Online resource; title from PDF cover (viewed March 2020)

This Watershed Plan Environmental Assessment is to improve the surface and groundwater quality by reducing the agricultural contribution of heavy metals salts sediment, and nitrate contamination This will be accomplished through accelerated technical and financial assistance for the installation of on farm land treatment measures. The measures are to reduce contaminants in the groundwater surface water and the Arkansas River to an acceptable level and protect the soil resource base from excessive irrigation induced erosion., sponsored by Bent Soil Conservation District, Prowers Soil Conservation District, Colorado State Soil Conservation Board, Fort Lyon Canal Company ; assisted by Natural Resources Conservation Service., "September, 1996.", Includes bibliographical references., Online resource; title from PDF cover (viewed March 2016)
Continued geographic expansion of known chronic wasting disease (CWD) distribution and the growing severity of infection rates in some affected cervid populations has renewed calls for sustainable intervention strategies. The vast majority of effective management actions currently rely on hunting participation and modifications to license setting to reduce infection rates in affected cervid populations., Mike Quartuch., "January 2023.", Co-authors: M.
