The Basic Search Box is a "Google-like" search box located in the menu bar at the top of the page. It is designed to search all descriptive fields in a record, as well as the full-text index of PDFs. To search for a phrase, use quotation marks to surround your search terms (e.g. "noxious weeds").
The Advanced Search searches all descriptive fields as well as the full text of PDFs. The drop-down menus in the Advanced Search allow users to search within a specific field and combine fields searches with Boolean operators. To search for a phrase, use quotation marks to surround your search terms (e.g. "noxious weeds").
Facets appear to the left of the search results.
- Clicking the (+) or the name of the facet will add that string as a limiter (will show all search results that INCLUDE that string).
- Clicking the (-) will show all the results that DO NOT include that string.>/li>
