In order to achieve America's full potential to reduce energy waste, create jobs and save consumers money on their energy bills, an alignment of energy-efficiency business leaders, policy makers and lending institutions must occur.
The purpose of this Manual is to provide guidance on preparing and processing documents that comply with NEPA and other applicable state and federal environmental laws affecting transportation projects in Colorado. This Manual provides references and links to related federal and state laws, executive orders, regulations, and policies. It also provides "best practice" examples for various compliance processes where appropriate. It is intended that CDOT staff, local agency representatives, and consultants use this Manual to implement NEPA in an effective manner, producing more consistent, improved environmental documents that decision-makers may use to make well-informed transportation decisions.
The goal of Colorados education system is to ensure that all children have access to a high quality school and the opportunity to receive an excellent education. But for too many students--urban, suburban and rural schools--that expectation is not being met. It is widely held in the education profession that turning a chronically low-performing school into a high-performing school is the most difficult of all tasks. Many strategies have been tried; few have succeeded. However, the enormity and complexity of the problem is not a valid excuse for failing to solve it, and CDE must lead the way.
The main purpose of the CDOT Project Development Manual is to provide a quick, easy-to-use overview of situations or dilemmas that might be encountered in the course of developing a project. The manual is intended to assist new engineers, designers and consultants.
This study sought to determine the technical feasibility of using seismic techniques to measure the laboratory and field seismic modulus of lime-stabilized soils (LSS), and to compare/correlate test results from bench-top (free-free resonance) seismic testing on LSS cylinders to in-situ (surface seismic) testing performed on field-constructed LSS. In addition, this research sought to develop a pilot specification for quality assurance (QA) of LSS using seismic test methods.
