The purpose of this document is to provide information and guidance to Child Find teams regarding the child identification process for children birth through five years old in Colorado. The information provided in this compendium is intended to guide Child Find practices in a way that meets the law, is evidence-based, and is best practice for young children and families.
Biennial plans submitted by Colorado's eleven (11) RETACs in compliance with contract requirements during Fiscal Year 2010. These plans are intended to outline the strategic directions of each RETAC council for the upcoming two (2) years of work to support Colorado's emergency medical and trauma system at the regional and local level. This review process was an initial effort and will serve as the "alpha" test for the future in an effort to ensure transparency, compliance and overall system cooperation between state, regional and local providers of care.
This fact sheet provides information about some of the major health indicators for the population in Colorado. Like other communities of color, American Indians experience some differences in health, risk factors and behaviors in comparison to other population groups. The data presented show comparisons between the American Indians population and the States population as a whole and identifies where there are differences.
