This report serves as an interim deliverable to the Interbasin Compact Process Basin Roundtables for both the Metro Roundtable and the South Platte Basin Roundtable. This report currently relies on the data developed as part of the Statewide Water Supply Initiative (SWSI).
The Rio Grande Water Supply Study was a reconnaissance level determination of the physically and legally available flow storable flow at four potential reservoir sites in the Rio Grande Basin upstream of Del Norte Colorado.
This Master Plan is based on general scientific and engineering knowledge of the function of river systems, applied to the Little Thompson Watershed to evaluate post-flood conditions and to develop conceptual recommendations for recovery and restoration of the river. Both qualitative and quantitative information were employed, where available, to develop a thorough understanding of the system, and to support long-and short-term recovery and planning decisions. The following sections provide a general description of the watershed and highlight areas where, based on the lack of available data, additional information and analysis are recommended to improve the understanding of the watershed and river system.
The Colorado Decision Support System (CDSS) consists of a database of hydrologic and administrative information related to water use in Colorado, and a variety of tools and models for reviewing, reporting, and analyzing the data. The White River basin lies between the Colorado River and Yampa River basins, in northwest Colorado.
