Saving Colorado's boreal toads
Saving Colorado's boreal toads
Colorado Parks and Wildlife biologists did a field survey of boreal toads, a state endangered species, at Zimmerman Lake, Larimer County, CO. Each toad caught was check for the chytrid fungus, which attacks amphibians by destroying their skin, disrupting their immune systems and causing heart failure as a way to assess the health of the boreal toad population. The biologists collect the toads eggs to be hatched to restock in locations other locations in Colorado to reestablish the population in the state., video file MPEG 76MB, Produced by Colorado Parks and Wildlife., Online resource; title from title screen (viewed May 2023), Narrated by F. Seasonal habitat use, movements and vital rates in the Parachute/Piceance/Roan population of Greater Sage-Grouse
Seasonal habitat use, movements and vital rates in the Parachute/Piceance/Roan population of Greater Sage-Grouse
The Colorado Division of Wildlife (CDOW) proposes to conduct a study of the Parachute/Piceance/Roan (PPR) population of greater sage-grouse during 2007 and 2008. The PPR is one of several small, spatially fragmented populations of sage-grouse in Colorado. The CDOW is interested in working with energy companies and other land owners and managers in the PPR area to sustain the PPR grouse population and plan for future management actions. The objectives of the study are to obtain current, baseline information on the genetic characteristics; measures of reproduction and survival rates; and patterns of habitat use and seasonal movements of sage-grouse in this population., prepared by Colorado Division of Wildlife, Avian Research., Proposal -- 2007 progress report -- January-March 2008 progress report -- April-June 2008 progress report., Includes bibliographical references., Online resource; title from PDF cover (viewed October 2019)
