Chronic wasting disease (CWD) is a fatal neurological disease found in deer, elk and moose. Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) has been recognized in free-ranging deer in Colorado since 1985, but how long it has been present or how it arose are unknown. The lessons in this module are designed to be taught in sequence. For each activity, students assume the role of researchers studying an emerging disease.
