- History and outcomes of opossum shrimp, Mysis diluviana, introductions in Colorado
- The Opossum Shrimp Mysis diluviana (formerly M. relicta, herein Mysis) is a small, shrimp-like crustacean native to cold, deep lakes in the Great Lakes region of the U.S. and Canada. Mysis were introduced to lakes and reservoirs to improve resources for sport fishes. Mysis had important effects on food webs, but few studies have examined the outcomes of the introductions in Colorado or the extent of potential invasions by natural dispersal or inadvertent transplants caused by water transfers. The present study was conducted during 2010-2019 to update the distribution and status of Mysis populations in Colorado., Douglas B. - Holistic approach to sustainable water management in northwest Douglas County
- Coloradoans recognize that our long term economic health hinges on the availability of adequate, clean, reliable water supplies. As future demands for municipal, recreational, agricultural, and industrial uses continue to increase throughout the state providing adequate water supplies will become more challenging. The water supply situation in northwest Douglas County serves as an example of the challenge of providing an adequate municipal water supply. Current and future residents are faced with a declining nonrenewable groundwater supply and limited options for renewable water supplies. The recommendations in this report provide an innovative approach toward balancing water supply and demand., "January 2007.", Includes bibliographical references (p. 59-60), Description based on online resource; title from PDF cover (viewed May 2014)
