Boyle Engineering Corporation was retained by the State of Colorado Department of Law to perform agronomic studies to develop data needed to support the State of Colorado's position in the adjudication of reserved water rights on selected lands within the Southern Ute and Ute Mountain Ute Indian Reservations located in southwest Colorado. The overall objective of the Agronomic Studies is to evaluate the ability of these lands to produce economic yields of crops judged suitable for production under site conditions. This evaluation includes investigations to determine the suitability of natural resources and climatic conditions for crop production and the impact of these factors on agronomic considerations such as land development and crop cultural requirements The results of the Agronomic Study will be used by agricultural economists to develop estimates of crop production costs and returns that reflect prevailing natural resource and climatic conditions., Report sponsored by the State of Colorado Department of Law., "December 1986.", Online resource; title from PDF cover (viewed September 2017), BK-C21-100-03
The purpose of this task is to identify a consumptive use methodology suitable for estimates of crop evapotranspiration in southwest Colorado. It includes a review and discussion of the more common predictive equations and sample calculations using measured and derived climatic data at a weather station in the project area. Mean data are used for all calculations except precipitation in which a 60 percent recurrence interval is used in effective precipitation calculations. Discussions of crop coefficients yield and ET correction factors and other parameters affecting irrigation requirements are included It does not include the determination of consumptive use for all crops at all locations for all methods, Report research sponsored by the State of Colorado Department of Law., "September 1986.", Online resource lacks sheets of maps., Online resource; title from PDF cover (viewed September 2017), BK-C22-100-01
House Bill 13-1224 prohibits the sale, transfer, and possession of "large-capacity ammunition magazines." The United States Forest Service (USFS) has filed channel maintenance instream flow claims at approximately 570 sites in the National Forests of Colorado Water Divisions 1 and 3 and is contemplating claims in Water Divisions 2 and 7. It is concluded from this study that the 570 streams on which the USFS has filed claims in Water Divisions 1 and 3 are generally steep mountain streams with relatively small drainage areas. Based on data and analysis from several sites with characteristics typical of the National Forest streams considered in this study where significant diversion has been conducted over a long period of time, no discernable differences in stream morphological characteristics could be detected between the up- and downstream channels that could be attributed to flow diversion., prepared for Colorado Department of Law ; prepared by Simons, Li & Associates, Inc., "January 1989.", "AG Alpha No. LW FR HRDJ." -- Last page., AG File No. CNR8900197/1KJ, Online resource; title from PDF cover (viewed February 2019)

The purpose of this task report is to present the methodology for determining practicably irrigable acreage (PIA) for the Ute Mountain Ute La Plata Watershed on the Ute Mountain Ute Reservation. The test for PIA requires that the revenues exceed the cost. The land under consideration when cropped and irrigated must return sufficient net positive income to pay for the costs of providing irrigation water to the farm headgate In order to determine PIA it is necessary to conceptually design an irrigation transmission system to deliver water to the farm headgate for each arable parcel. The annualized cost of the off farm irrigation water transmission system is compared to the net positive income payment capacity of the parcel., Report research sponsored by the State of Colorado Department of Law., "June 1987.", Online resource lacks sheets of maps., Online resource; title from PDF cover (viewed September 2017), BK-C22-100-04/05
