U.S. Department of Health and Human Services legislation requires states to conduct a child care market rate survey every three years in order to receive federal funding from the Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF). In 2013, the Governor's Child Welfare Plan Keeping Kids Safe and Families Healthy called for a public awareness and prevention campaign, to coincide with a new statewide hotline to report child abuse and neglect across Colorado. The purpose of the Colorado Child Abuse and Neglect Hotline is to promote greater safety for Colorado's children and emphasize that everyone in the community plays a role in the prevention of child abuse and neglect. The Colorado Department of Human Services (the Department) in partnership with Vitale & Associates (V&A) and Wilson Perkins Allen (WPA) Opinion Research, conducted public opinion research in 2013 to serve as a baseline measurement. To evaluate any changes in public opinion and help inform the public awareness strategy, the Department again commissioned quantitative research in 2016. In addition to questions about reporting child abuse and neglect and the signs of child abuse and neglect, this new research included questions about the perception of child welfare, fostering, adopting and the prevention of child abuse., "Date: January 12, 2017." -- Cover memorandum., "Number: IM-OCYF-2017-0001." -- Cover memorandum., The 23 page opinion poll research results is attached to the 20 page, Online resource; title from PDF caption (viewed October 2024)
