South Carolina drought mitigation and response assessment : 1998-2000 drought
South Carolina drought mitigation and response assessment : 1998-2000 drought
South Carolina is blessed with an abundance of water, although its distribution is uneven across the state and from season to season. These disparities were made especially clear during a once-in-a-hundred-year drought lasting from June 1998 through December 2000, and still continuing in 2001. This study was undertaken to provide a current "snapshot" of the state's primary drought concerns, impacts, and mitigation and response measures., "May 2001."--Cover., "June 18, 2001.", Includes bibliographical references., Description based on online resource; title from PDF cover; (viewed July 2014), This material is based upon work supported by the National Science Foundation under Grant No. CMS-0080977.

State accountability rating systems : a review of school report cards as indicators of school quality
State accountability rating systems : a review of school report cards as indicators of school quality
A core premise of state school report cards is that publicizing information about how well schools and districts meet specified goals will incentivize school improvement. However, for report card rating systems to be potentially beneficial as a school improvement policy instrument, they must provide fair and valid indicators of school performance., Gail L.
