An investigation of the effects of topography on Colorado Front Range winter storms
An investigation of the effects of topography on Colorado Front Range winter storms
This study utilizes both an extensive set of observations and mesoscale model simulations to isolate and describe the important influences of complex terrain on Colorado Front Range winter storms, with an emphasis on snowfall distributions. Specifically, the interaction of various types of cold, low level air masses with topography and the larger-scale flow is described., "Fall, 1991.", Sponsored by NSF, The work was primarily supported by the Army Research Office (ARO) Center for Geosciences, contract number, Includes bibliographical references (p. 190-197)., Mode of access: World Wide Web.

An observational and theoretical study of squall line evolution
An observational and theoretical study of squall line evolution
This study documents a class of squall lines that appears to be approximately two-dimensional, has a solid leading edge echo during a portion of its life cycle, and and has line-normal flow characterized by a continuous zone of negative horizontal velocity that slopes upward from the leading edge to the rear of the storm., "May 29,1992.", Research supported by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration under Grant, Research supported by National Science Foundation under Grant, Includes bibliographical references (p. 114-119)., Mode of access: World Wide Web.

Analysis of a data collection and processing system for Beaver Creek watershed, Arizona
Analysis of a data collection and processing system for Beaver Creek watershed, Arizona
Accurate, quantitative analysis of ecosystems is dependent on the quality of data used to describe the environment. Data quality is a major concern for the Multi-resource Management Planning Research Project, referred to as the Beaver Creek Project, administered by the Rocky Mountain Forest and Range Experiment Station. The goals of the Beaver Creek Project are centered on development and testing of methodologies for management decision making in forested watersheds. In order to meet these goals, large amounts of data from climatic, biologic, hydrologic, geologic and hydraulic measurements must be obtained. The eventual success of the Beaver Creek Project in providing accurate analysis methods is dependent on the reliability and validity of the measured data., prepared for USDA Forest Service, Rocky Mountain Forest and Range Experiment Station ; prepared by D.B.
