Limestone-Graveyard Creeks Watershed, Bent County, Colorado, Prowers County, Colorado watershed plan and environmental assessment
This Watershed Plan Environmental Assessment is to improve the surface and groundwater quality by reducing the agricultural contribution of heavy metals salts sediment, and nitrate contamination This will be accomplished through accelerated technical and financial assistance for the installation of on farm land treatment measures. The measures are to reduce contaminants in the groundwater surface water and the Arkansas River to an acceptable level and protect the soil resource base from excessive irrigation induced erosion., sponsored by Bent Soil Conservation District, Prowers Soil Conservation District, Colorado State Soil Conservation Board, Fort Lyon Canal Company ; assisted by Natural Resources Conservation Service., "September, 1996.", Includes bibliographical references., Online resource; title from PDF cover (viewed March 2016)
Linking hunting access and chronic wasting disease : a case study from northeastern Colorado
Linking hunting access and chronic wasting disease : a case study from northeastern Colorado
Continued geographic expansion of known chronic wasting disease (CWD) distribution and the growing severity of infection rates in some affected cervid populations has renewed calls for sustainable intervention strategies. The vast majority of effective management actions currently rely on hunting participation and modifications to license setting to reduce infection rates in affected cervid populations., Mike Quartuch., "January 2023.", Co-authors: M. Little Thompson watershed restoration master plan
Little Thompson watershed restoration master plan
This Master Plan is based on general scientific and engineering knowledge of the function of river systems, applied to the Little Thompson Watershed to evaluate post-flood conditions and to develop conceptual recommendations for recovery and restoration of the river. Both qualitative and quantitative information were employed, where available, to develop a thorough understanding of the system, and to support long-and short-term recovery and planning decisions. The following sections provide a general description of the watershed and highlight areas where, based on the lack of available data, additional information and analysis are recommended to improve the understanding of the watershed and river system., prepared for Little Thompson Watershed Restoration Coalition ; sponsored by the Big Thompson Conservation District with support from the Colorado Water Conservation Board ; prepared by Tetra Tech., "December 2014.", Online resource; title from PDF title page (viewed July 2020)
Living streambanks : a manual of bioengineering treatments for Colorado streams
Living streambanks : a manual of bioengineering treatments for Colorado streams
The 2013 Front Range Floods were highly detrimental to Colorado, impacting human life, infrastructure, and water quality. Furthermore, the flood caused historic levels of damage to stream channels, floodplains, and riparian areas. The purpose of this manual is to provide restoration practitioners and regulators who work in Colorado with guidelines for planning, design, and construction of stream bank protection. In particular, it prioritizes the application of stream bank bioengineering treatments tailored for the climatic, biological, hydrologic, and morphological conditions specific to Colorado's unique watersheds. The streambank bioengineering treatments presented in this manual were developed by their original authors to withstand specific hydraulic conditions of a site while utilizing site-adapted vegetation. Colorado's unique hydraulic and ecological conditions require a localized approach to streambank bioengineering to enhance successful implementation of treatments. Success of streambank bioengineering treatments is further guided throughout this manual via design and construction strategies specific to Colorado., submitted to Colorado Water Conservation Board ; submitted by AloTerra Restoration Services, LLC, and Golder Associates, Inc. ; primary authors: John H.
