- Migration of recent Colorado college graduates, 2010-2018
- Between 2010 and 2018 Colorado was graduating between 118,000 to 136,000 college students annually. Three cohorts of graduates from Colorado Colleges and Universities were analyzed and found that between 73 and 76 percent of the graduates were working in Colorado one year after graduation, benefiting Colorado's economy and labor force. Not all graduates remain in the state they received their degree. Migration of recent graduates is driven by several factors including economic opportunity, size of community and whether the student was an out-of-state student. Ample evidence suggests that college graduates move to follow job opportunities., "Eve Renard, University of Kansas, with contributions from Elizabeth Garner, Colorado State Demography Office.
