- The National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration (NHTSA), under the direction of the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), released a guidance document in May 2007 entitled: EMS Pandemic Influenza Guidelines for Statewide Adoption as part of the National Strategy for Pandemic Influenza Implementation Plan.
