Health consultation evaluation of potential soil exposures of future residents Hamilton-Sundstrand RCRA site, Denver, Adams county, Colorado
Hamilton Sundstrand manufactured and tested components for the aerospace industry. The site opened in 1955 and ceased operations in April of 2004. Various wastes were generated during operations at the plant including polychlorinated biphenyls, solvents, and petroleum-based oils laden with tetrachloroethene and trichloroethene. The overall goal of the public health consultation process is to determine if site-related contamination poses a public health hazard and to make recommendations to protect public health if need be., prepared by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment., "July 26, 2010.", "Prepared under a Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry Division of Health Assessment and Consultation.", Includes bibliographic references page 15., Online resource; title from PDF cover (viewed February 2017)

Health consultation, evaluation of tetrachloroethene vapor intrusion into buildings located above a contaminated aquifer, Schlage Lock Company, Security, El Paso County, Colorado
In late 1987, Schlage Lock Company, located in Security, Colorado, discovered that the groundwater beneath their manufacturing facility was contaminated with the chemical tetrachloroethylene, which is also known as perchloroethylene (PCE). Schlage utilized the solvent as a metal cleaner and degreaser during the production of door locks and related hardware from 1977-1992. Improper disposal and/or storage of spent PCE led to contaminated soil beneath their facility. PCE then leached through the subsurface soil to an underlying aquifer. The contaminated groundwater beneath the facility eventually migrated into the Widefield Aquifer, a major source of drinking water for the surrounding community. PCE was discovered in the first municipal drinking water system in 1990, and an environmental investigation began., prepared by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment under cooperative agreement with the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry., "EPA Facilty ID No. COD082657420.", Includes bibliographic references pages 13-14., Online resource; title from PDF cover (viewed February 2017)

Health disparities : the 2013 report : exploring health equity in Colorado's 10 winnable battles
This report provides baseline data and case studies on how various groups that traditionally have experienced social or economic obstacles to health are faring in the 10 areas identified as winnable battles. The purpose of the report is to identify strengths and disparities among groups and to inform efforts to achieve better health for all Coloradans, so that gains may be enjoyed equally. This report differs from previous report on health disparities in Colorado because it is organized around Colorado's 10 Winnable Battles, and is designed to support CDPHE's existing efforts in the 10 battle areas. Also, it is the first Health Disparities Report to include data on sexual minorities., Bibliography: p. 47-57., Description based on print version record.
