The purpose of this study is to document the economic significance of the travel industry in Colorado from 1996 to 2013. These findings show the level of travel spending by overnight international and domestic visitors traveling to and through the state and the impact this spending had on the economy in terms of earnings, employment and tax revenue.
The state of Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) - Division of Insurance (DOI) procured the assistance of Public Consulting Group, Inc. (PCG) to gather information on the provider networks used by health insurance plans sold in the state, to evaluate the adequacy of these networks in providing reasonable and sufficient access to covered services for plan members, and to assess recent trends in provider networks. This report follows and complements recent changes to the health insurance landscape in the state, including development of a State-Based Exchange (Connect for Health Colorado) and implementation of federal health insurance standards, such as mandatory inclusion of Essential Community Providers (ECPs) in plan networks.
The full closure strategic analysis was conducted to create a decision process whereby full roadway closures for construction and maintenance activities can be evaluated and approved or denied by CDOT Traffic personnel. The study reviewed current full closure practices in Colorado and throughout the country, gathered stakeholder input, and employed an iterative development process to reach a systematic decision tool that can be applied to judging the merits of full closure scenarios. A number of case studies were created to more fully understand the methodology and adjust the tool to best match real-world scenarios. Project deliverables include a technical report and a series of electronic forms that can be used by CDOT to work through the process.
The Conservation Reserve Program is a voluntary land conservation program established in 1985. Its long term goal is to improve water quality, prevent soil erosion, and reduce loss of wildlife habitat through the removal of environmentally sensitive lands from agricultural production. The contracts through the Farm Service Administration (FSA) provide yearly rental payments to farmers who enroll in the program. These contracts are ten to fifteen years in length and insure improvements in environmental health and quality through the conversion of agricultural land back to natural or semi-natural vegetative cover.
The guide is intended to be flexible and dynamic to adapt to the changing partnerships between the State of Colorado and American Indian Tribal governments. The working relationship between the State and Tribes is constantly evolving due to changes in administrations, personnel, and priorities. This guide provides suggestions about how to conduct meaningful State-Tribal Consultations.
This animation shows simulated hourly surface ozone concentrations during the 2014 FRAPPÉ campaign. The simulations have been performed with the Weather Research and Forecasting Model (WRF) Community Multiscale Air Quality (CMAQ) model. The simulations have been conducted with a 4 km x 4 km grid horizontal resolution and show the frequent occurrence of high ozone pollution in the Colorado Front Range and the transport of this pollution into the nearby mountains during upslope events.
